Dr. Cynthia Cox Ph.D.
Dr. Cox is a Licensed Psychologist with over 30 years of experience in the general private practice of psychology. Her kind, insightful and compassionate approach has contributed to her success as a therapist and made her a favorite among her supervisees.
Her extensive therapeutic experience encompasses work with individuals, families, and couples, and her approach is described as collaborative and grounded in research-based techniques and theory. She is a skilled therapist that is able to assist clients in achieving profound change.
In addition, Dr. Cox brings organizational experience to the practice that includes specialized training in critical incident management. Since 1999 she has been requested to go to area businesses and universities following unexpected loss of life, natural disasters, bank robberies, as well as to assist in procedures such as down-sizing organizations. She has worked in university settings at Temple University, and Franklin and Marshall College, as well as under contract at Penn State York to develop the Counseling and Psychological Services department.
Most recently, Dr. Cox retired from her clinical work in Pennsylvania and completed the requirements to be licensed in the state of Florida. Her clinical focus at Fort Lauderdale Counseling and Assessment will be as a supervisor, therapist, as well as assessment evaluator. Her experience, professionalism, and enthusiasm is a valued asset to the practice and she is a leader and role model to young clinicians.
On a personal note, Dr. Cox has recently married and added 3 more to her 15 grandchildren. She enjoys traveling to see them as much as possible!
